Coroners Inquests Index (NSW & VDL) 1796-1824

The first criminal, civil and magistrates courts in Australia were established at Sydney in 1788. In the early colony magistrates acted as coroners at inquests. The records of these courts, including some minutes of proceedings, are valuable sources of genealogical and historical data. Data extracted from these records will be added to the Database over time.
